In recent community outreach dispatches, the University of Southern Maine (USM) Department of Public Safety featured Officer Ebert alongside Sgt. Christopher Coyne and Portland Police Department comfort dog Archie.

However, a review of official staff documentation hosted on the maine.edu domain reveals a notable statement within Sgt. Coyne’s official university profile.

Following a 27-year career with the Portland Police Department prior to joining USM Public Safety in early 2024, Sgt. Coyne’s staff biography notes:

“Outside of work Sgt. Coyne enjoys camping and visiting Boston’s North End, his favorite place outside of Maine. Due to all the places he has visited he has had the opportunity to try a variety of foods; out of all of them, the strangest was dog which he says he would try again.”
